[GHHF] Assam - Monthly Activity Report- March 2025

The multiplicity is only apparent. This is the doctrine of the Upanishads. And not of the Upanishads only. The mystical experience of the union with God regularly leads to this view, unless strong prejudices stand in the way. — Erwin Schrodinger (Nobel Prize Winner) 1. Bala Samskar students celebrated Hindu new year (Gudi Padwa) by making Rangoli* at their houses. This month students learnt in Sunday class about the significance of Hindu new year falls in the month of Chaitra. 2. Hindu Yuva Manch begins its journey in Assam. Hundred youths from different villages came to Udharbond where in presence of others we launched Hindu Yuva Manch with an aim to Seva, Suraksha and Jagran of Hindus in Assam. Today a ten-member ad hoc committee formed which will work on expansion of HYM networks throughout the State in the coming three months. After reaching the venue, the cadres felicitated me by one Shiva Picture, which is a clay art design made by one of the cadres viz Subham Nath. I felicitated one Ranajit Baishnab who led the team during church demolition movement in Vill Nydol. The meeting concluded with the National Anthem. 3. Love jihad awareness meeting. I visited village Kachudaram part 1 and spoke about Love jihad. Shyamal Das organized this meeting; he is Bala Samskar Kendra teacher, but he has also done a remarkable job for spreading the network of Tejaswini and GHHF in adjacent villages of Kachudaram.  Hundreds of booklets on love jihad distributed. We have decided to organize one day camp for school and college going girls in the coming months. I spent the whole day with our team. 4. Holi celebration by Bala Samskar students, parents, teachers. 5. Gharwapsi - 4 Christians from one family returned to Hinduism. GHHF Assam team in collaboration with a local team of Tripura have done the Gharwapsi. We are helping them to procure the legal documents. They have been settled in the south mirza of Tripura. *Story behind Gharwapsi Satayu Das and his family members migrated from Tripura and settled in village Bazarichera, Assam. Satayu Das started working as casual housekeeping worker in one missionary hospital and subsequently brain washed by the gang and converted to Christianity. A few months back his family members came to Assam and contacted him, they stayed in a lodge where he encountered one cook who attended GHHF program once and heard about Gharwapsi movement we are running. That fellow contacted our team and then GHHF team started counselling the Stayu Das and eventually he agreed to return to Hindu fold. After the Gharwapsi we sent him to his ancestral village i.e. south mirza Tripura where he is living with his other family members. [GHHF] Hindu Temple and School Classroom Building was built in December 2024 in a Fisherman Village; Now completed it by putting Iron mesh net all around the building.

“Hindu Dharma is the quintessence of our national life, hold fast to it if you want your country to survive, or else you would be wiped out in three generations.” — Swami Vivekananda Global Hindu Heritage Foundation built Devalayam and Vidyalayam was built in a Fisherman Villag Lakkavaram in Sri Sitarama Raju District in December 2024. In December Prakasarao Velagapudi and Rajesh Thunuguntla went to that village and performed Prana Pratishta to Lord Krishna and Goddess Saraswati. It was attended by nearly 200 people. More than 75 children also attended. The prana Pratishta program started early morning and concluded by around 11:00am. Annadana was served to the villagers.     As we mentioned earlier, our team received a call about a fisherman village where about 200 families converted to Christianity. Sri Ramakrishna, who is working in this area reached GHHF asking our help to prevent another 200 Hindu families from conversion. We readily agreed help build ‘Vidyalayam -Devalayam’ -School cum Temple.  Religious conversion is one of the main problems facing the Hindu community across the country. The awareness of the tribal people living in the forests away from the rest of society depends on freedom. Christian missionaries are trying to scare others by tempting them and converting them to their religion. GHHF is excited to inform you that an iron mesh net was installed all around the building to protect certain types of small animals and also other religious people entering the building. As you can see it is an open building where Bala Samskar Kendra is conducted on a regular basis.  Your donations are appreciated   By Zelle: ghhfusaorg@gmail.com PayPal: savetemples.org By Check: You can also send a check payable to GHHF,14726 Harmony Lane, Frisco, TX 75035. [GHHF] A 200-Bike rally was organized to celebrate Sri Rama Navami in Kalyandurg area in Anantapur District along with other organizations.

“India is the mother of religion. In her are combined science and religion in perfect harmony, and that is the Hindu religion, and it is India that shall be again the spiritual mother of the world.” — Annie Besant Global Hindu Heritage Foundation celebrates all the festivals and make the villagers involved in the richness of our rituals. Whenever it is possible we organize the events inviting other Hindu organizations to come together and celebrate collectively. On Sri Rama Navami festival, all Hindu communities and Hindu brothers and sisters organized a bike rally through the streets of the town. First, the devotees who came to Sri Pattabhi Ramaswamy Temple were given Rama Tilak on their foreheads. The bike rally started under the leadership of the town Circle Inspector and the entire town was organized with great devotion by chanting the name of Lord Rama - Jai Sri Ram Jai, Jai Sri Ram. Sri Sita Sametha Rama Procession Program On Sri Rama Navami Day, Bhajan groups from about 5 villages participated in the Jonnala Padu village (Kolani) Sri Sita Rama procession program. A total of about 200 people participated in the Jonnala Padu (Kolani) main road. They went all around the streets to create positive vibrations in the villages It is sight to see so many people participating in singing Bhajans and chanting Lord Rama’s name. Greatness of Lord Rama: Lord Rama has always been popular among the Hindu deities. Rama is the symbol of courtesy and virtue, a man of values and morals. Ramachandra is Maryada Purushottama, which means the perfect man. Lord Rama is considered to have taken birth on earth to destroy the evil forces of the age. Lord Rama, in the words of Swami Vivekananda, is “the embodiment of truth, of morality, the ideal son, the ideal husband, and above all, the ideal king”. Rama is widely accepted to be an actual historical figure – a “tribal hero of ancient India” – whose deeds form the great Hindu epic of Ramayana. Rama symbolizes a model of reason, right action, and desirable virtues. Rama’s name is a popular form of greeting among friends (“Ram! Ram!”), and Rama is the deity most invoked at death. Rama, one of the most widely worshipped Hindu deities, considered the epitome of moral virtue and royal conduct. Although there are three Ramas mentioned in Indian tradition—Parashurama, Balarama, and Ramachandra—the name is specifically associated with Ramachandra. Your donations are appreciated. [GHHF] “Knowledge is like a Plant; you have to fertilize it with hard work” Students learned about the secret of success.

“So far as I am able to judge, nothing has been left undone, either by man or nature, to make India the most extraordinary country that the sun visits on his rounds. Nothing seems to have been forgotten, nothing overlooked.” Mark Twain There was a young man named Arjun in a village called Krishnapuram. He was intelligent, but he was not very interested in studies. "Even if you get low marks in exams, it is not a problem, you have to be smart in life!" He used to think. When his friends studied hard every day, Arjun would think, "Is all this necessary? We don't need a lot of education to survive and earn money!" Once, his father showed him plants planted in a field. Some of them grew strong, while others withered in the middle. His father asked, "Do you know why these plants withered?" Arjun said, "They must not have been given proper water and fertilizer, father." His father smiled and said, "Education is the same. Knowledge is like a plant; it can only survive if it is given the water of diligence and the fertilizer of hard work." At that time, Arjun did not care much. Difficult times - the real test Time passed. Arjun slowly fell behind in school. All his friends passed with good marks and got into good colleges. But Arjun only gave up his studies. One day, his father's business went bankrupt. Financial problems started at home. Now he had to find a job, but his education was poor! Since his education was not good, he could not get a job anywhere. Arjun, who was looking for a job, was sitting in a park one day. There, a schoolteacher was teaching the students "Bhagavad Gita verses". "Sraddhavan labhate jnanam tatparah samyatendriyah । jnanam labdhwa param shantimachirenadhigachhathi । 39 ।" (The one who is devoted can obtain knowledge. Those who work with perseverance and sense control will soon attain supreme peace.) Hearing these words, Arjun remembered his father's words, "Knowledge is a plant". "I didn't pay attention, so my knowledge didn't grow. That's why I'm in this situation now!" he realized. After this incident, Arjun decides to change his life with all his heart. * He started studying courses day and night, working hard. * He started learning about business from his father. * He took on a small job and shouldered the family's burden, dedicating two to three hours every day to learning new things like accounting, economics, and business management. * After some time, his father started developing his business online through digital marketing. With a few years of hard work, his father brought his losing business back to profit. Now, he is a successful entrepreneur! One day, while sharing his success with his father, he said, "Really, my life changed only when I paid attention and wanted to study hard, Dad!" The father laughed, "When I told you about plants, you didn't pay attention to my words. But when I told you about the Bhagavad Gita, you understood! We don't care much about anything as long as we live comfortably. Only when difficult times come do we realize the value of everything. Knowledge is not available to us; we have to earn it!" he said. Morals to learn from the story: 1. With diligence and perseverance, anything is possible! 2. If we start learning now, it is like paving the way for us to reach great heights in the future. 3. Even in difficulties, our efforts should not stop. 4. The wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita can keep our lives on a high level. Things to teach children through this story: 1. Diligence: Only if we do any work diligently can we achieve success. 2. Hard work: What comes easily does not last long. Real success is the reward of hard work. 3. The value of time: We should not waste time and make the right decisions at the right time. 4. Confidence: No matter how difficult the situation is, if we have faith, we will find a way. How to discuss this story with children: 1. How should we behave in difficult times? 2. What is the meaning of the Bhagavad Gita verse "Shraddhavan labhate jnanam"? 3. If you make a mistake like Arjun, how do you fix it? 4. What do you need to learn to be successful in any field in the future? 5. What do you think you should do when difficult times come? Your donations are appreciated. By Zelle: ghhfusaorg@gmail.com PayPal: savetemples.org By Check: Or you can send a check payable to GHHF, 14726 Harmony Lane, Frisco, TX 75035. It is tax-deductible. [GHHF] Letter to B R Naidu requesting him to reveal the attempts to identify non-Hindus working TTD and its affiliated institutions.

Dear Sri B R Naidu Garu: Subject: Can you provide information about your attempts to identify Christian employees and transfer them.        Global Hindu Heritage Foundation expressed its appreciation to The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board which has passed a resolution to remove all non-Hindu employees from the organization. You also emphasized that only individuals practicing the Hindu faith should be involved in the temple’s sacred duties. You also said that "This resolution aligns with the spiritual and religious sentiments of devotees, who expect the temple administration to be run by those who share the faith." You also announced, “We have also decided to identify unauthorized and unlicensed shops in Tirumala and take appropriate action against them.”      Chief Minister Naidu had earlier said that non-Hindu staff would be transferred to other government departments to “protect the sanctity of the temple town”. 1)    On February 1, 2025, you identified 18 Christian employees working at TTD and other affiliated institutions “as practicing and participating in non-Hindu religious activities and also participating in Hindu religious fairs, festivals and functions conducted by TTD, which impacts the sanctity, sentiments of crores of Hindu devotees.” Thereby TTD barred them from participating in religious functions of TTD until further orders.  QUESTIONS: a) Why were they not terminated from their jobs?  b) You requested the Chief Engineer to transfer them from such religiously sensitive places immediately.  Where will they be transferred? Why should TTD take that responsibility to transfer? c) Don’t you think TTD will be rewarding them for lying?  2)    TTD identified 18 non-Hindus working at TTD. As you are aware that Global Hindu Heritage Foundation submitted 16 names working BRRD hospital to Dr. Anil Singhal in 2020, Y V Subba Reddy in 2020 and your office in February 2025.  The names you submitted matched only two names we provided as non-Hindu employees working. Then GHHF submitted 14 names of suspected Christians working in the hospital creating havoc to Hindu nurses and requested you to investigate. So far, no response from your office. QUESATION: Can you investigate those 14 those Christians and let us know your decision on these Christian employees? 3)    GHHF submitted a letter titled “How do we identify the concealed Christians working in TTD” on Marcy 21, 2025. No response from your office as to what action is taken to address the concealed Christians. QUESTION: Can you respond whether TTD has taken any steps to identify these concealed Christians, or any other steps taken to identify the concealed Christians working in TTD and its institutions? 4)    Global Hindu Heritage Foundation sent a letter requesting you to give ULTIMATUM to all TTD employees to reveal their religion. If anybody finds lying after they revealed their faith, they should be terminated immediately. TTD should not take any responsibility to transfer them to any other government jobs. Lying should not be rewarded with a new job.  a.    If you set the trend of finding jobs for these liars, you will have a host of many people lying knowing that TTD will find their new jobs even if they have lied. b.     Any information you can provide about your attempts identify concealed Christians would be appreciated. The longer we keep them the more damage they are likely to do to our Sanatana Dharma and to the sanctity of TTD. It is the mission of every Christian to convert all Hindus since they believe us to be SINNERS. They will keep doing their conversion missionary uninterrupted if we do not identify and remove them immediately.      GHHF would be grateful for your response addressing these issues and provide the information regarding your efforts to identify Christians working at TTD and its affiliate institutions.

[GHHF] Mangal Pandey was hanged for his refusal to disrespect Hindu Dharma and for respecting Gau Mata.

Global Hindu Heritage Foundation conducts more than 175 Bala Samskar Kendras in nine different states in Bharat and Bangladesh. Our utmost wish is to educate our children about the national heroes who sacrificed their lives to protect the culture and traditions during eight hundred years of Muslim and British rule.  If we carefully observe the country's freedom movement, one thing becomes clear to all of us. They fought not only to drive out foreign invaders but also to uphold the culture and customs of this country. Foreign Muslim invaders and foreign Christian invaders not only robbed us but also disrespected our cultural roots and committed many atrocities. This sparked a large-scale rebellion among the general public. The first Sepoy Mutiny movement in the country's freedom movement is proof of that. The British recruited Indians as soldiers with the money of Indians, enslaved Indians, and ruled them. Thus, many Indians served as sepoys in the British army. Many of them did that work willingly. But when the cow, which is highly revered by Indians, was killed, and the Indian sepoys were told to use the fat in their gun bullets, their dormant religious and cultural roots awakened and made them fight against the British government. "Looking at it this way, there is no doubt that the reason for the rebellion of the sepoys, which is considered to be the starting point of the country's freedom struggle, was the cow." Mangal Pandey was born on 19 July 1827 as the son of Diwakar Pandey of Nagwad in Uttar Pradesh. In his childhood, he refused to study science and studied surgery instead. Mangal Pandey served as a sepoy in the 34th Bengal Regiment in the British Army. The British used to give the sepoys bullets made by applying cow fat. Those bullets explode only if you bite them with your mouth and remove the skin. Reluctant to use bullets coated with cow fat, the self-respect that had been dormant in him rose, so he gathered his fellow soldiers and raised his voice of contempt against the British government. He killed two British officers and started a rebellion. With the spirit of military rebellion, many heroes like Jhansi Lakshmi Bai, Maratha Peshwa Nanasaheb, and Tantia Tope, who had been waiting for an opportunity until then, fought against the East India Company. After that, the British suppressed the movement with a large army and imprisoned Mangal Pandey, who was hanged on 8 April 1857. Remembering Mangal Pandey means remembering all those military heroes who fought for the pride of the country and the cow. It is truly shameful for today's generation, born in this land where people fought for the cow and for Dharma, to live in an independent India where millions of cow mothers are being killed around them, and attacks on Dharma and temples are being carried out as if nothing has happened. There is a great need to make today's generation aware of Dharma and the country and prepare them as soldiers who fight for them. Moral things to learn from the story: 1. Inspiration of sacrifice: Stories of heroes who sacrificed their lives for freedom give us strength and courage. We should be ready to make any sacrifice for Dharma and the country. 2. Responsibility of today's generation: We need courage and inspiration to fight against the injustices and atrocities around us without complacency. 3. Unity: This is the message that if we are united, we can face any powerful enemy. 4. One's inspiration is a guide for another: Mangal Pandey's rebellion and sacrifice influenced other leaders and people. The good deeds and brave actions we do can be an inspiration to others. Suggestion for teachers: Things to teach children through this story: 1. We should put aside personal interests and stand up for society and the country. 2. We should have the determination to fight even when faced with many insults. 3. Like Mangal Pandey, we should stand up without fear when facing injustice. 4. We should think about what we are doing today to uphold Dharma and fight if necessary. How to discuss this story with children: 1. What did Mangal Pandey consider more important than his life? 2. What quality did Mangal Pandey teach you in this story? 3. What services would you like to do for the country and Dharma? What would you do if you had to? 4. Why did Mangal Pandey rebel against the British government? Your donations are appreciated. [GHHF] Sri Rama Navami was celebrated by participating in Pujas and Sita Rama Kalyana celebrations by our Bala Samskar Students

Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is proud to teach about the importance of Rama Navami and take students to nearby Temples to attend the Sita Rama Kalayanam. Students also worshipped Lord Rama and Sita Mata by decorating their pictures in the classrooms. As the seventh incarnation of the Dashavatars, Lord Rama was born in the spring season on Chaitra Shuddha Navami, Thursday, in the Cancer Lagna of the Punarvasu star at noon. Every year, Sri Rama Navami is celebrated as a festival on this day. On Chaitra Shuddha Navami, Sri Rama's birthday, we celebrate "Sri Rama Navami." Worship is performed all over the country to Lord Rama. On the day of Sri Rama Navami, large palm groves are erected in the streets, and Sita Rama's marriage is performed. Lord Rama is very fond of bananas. When measuring, it is mandatory to offer bananas. In homes, Lord Rama is also worshipped as usual, and vadapappu, panakam, and naivedyam are distributed to everyone. Similarly, as part of the festivals, Annadanam is organized. In villages, it is customary for the poor and the rich to accept it as Prasad. If Sita and Rama are married on the day of Sri Rama Navami, all auspicious things will be done. All eight divine powers will be done. Sri Rama is the child born as a result of the "Putra Kameshti Yagya" performed by King Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya of Ayodhya. Sri Rama Avatar is one of the ten incarnations. At the time of Sri Rama's birth, the demon Ravana was already wreaking havoc on the devotees of God, sages, and gods, destroying the world. He killed Ravana and saved Dharma. Sri Ramachandra showed how a human being should be, how to respect and protect relationships. On the day we celebrate Sri Rama Navami in Bhadrachalam, everyone in all parts of the world should celebrate on the same day. On the day of Sri Rama Navami, one should wake up at six in the morning, take a bath, and wear yellow clothes. The entire house and the temple should be cleaned. The puja temple, the gate should be decorated with turmeric and saffron, and the front of the house should be decorated with rangavallikas. The images used for puja should be kept ready with sandalwood and saffron. An image of Sri Sitarama, Lakshmana, Bharata, Shatrughna, or an image of Sri Rama can be used for puja. Sannajaji, lotus flowers should be prepared for puja, and Panakam, Vadapappu, and Kamalakaya should be prepared for puja. Also, before puja, Sri Rama should be praised with stotras like Sri Rama Ashtottaram, Sri Ramaraksha Stotra, Sri Ramashtakam, Sri Rama Sahasram, and Sri Madramayanam. Also, reciting the chapter called Sri Rama Pattabhishekam will bring auspicious results. Panakam-Vadapappu is of importance on the day of Sri Rama Navami. On the Navami day, Panakam-Vadapappu is prepared and accepted as a great prasadam. There is no natural meaning behind this. It is summer. Therefore, Ayurvedic scholars believe that consuming these as prasadam improves human health and longevity. All our prasadams are determined according to the season and health. Vadapappu - Panakam is the same. Devi Bhagavatam says that the autumn and spring seasons are like the claws of Yama. It is said that the pepper and cardamom used in the panaka provide relief and act as medicine for throat diseases that occur during this season. Panakam (made of brown sugar, cardamom, black pepper, etc) is a favorite of Vishnu. Pesarappu (green gram) reduces the heat in the body and cools it down. It increases digestion. It is a symbol of body light and knowledge. Pesarappu is called the protector of heat stroke. This means that it protects against the heat of the scorching sun. Pesarappu is a favorite of Mercury. Pesarappu was very valuable to the ancestors. [GHHF] Students learned about Chhatrapati Shivaji, his heroism, patriotism, struggle to preserve Hindu Swarajya, and battles with Muslim Rulers.

All the Indian youth should learn a lot from Shivaji Maharaj. During the rule of the Mughal kings, there was anarchy, rape of women, and exploitation of our wealth. At the age of 16, he decided to establish Hindu Swarajya. Since then, he organized his peers and informed them about the value of Swarajya, love for one's own religion, and self-respect. He established Hindu Swarajya. He destroyed the Mughal Empire in India. Although the Mughal army was larger than Shivaji's army, Shivaji used to make the Mughals tremble with his intelligence and war skills. Although the Mughal kings Aurangzeb and others anarchically demolished temples, our Shivaji Maharaj did not attack their places of worship, which were mosques. That is his greatness! That is Indian culture!!! We all have a lot to learn from Shivaji. We should get inspired by knowing how much he fought for the country, for Swarajya, and Dharma. He considered women as "mothers". We are fortunate to be born in India, where a great hero and king, Shivaji Maharaj, was born. ● *The real answer to the Mughal alliance policy.. ● *The only protector of Dharma in the 17th century.. ● *Samartha Ramdas, a practitioner of the mantra of unity. ● *Won the Torana Durga at the age of 14.. ● *Shisodiya dynasty, Gayatri Mantra initiate.. ● *Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga digestive aid.. ● *Shivnabu Golconda, Bijapur Sultan, Delhi Padushal's lion dream... ● *Amazing feat in the killing of Afzal Khan, the cutting off of Shahista Khan's fingers, and the escape of a hundred thousand soldiers.. ● *Inspirer of Raja Chhatrasal, Lachit Bad Phukan, Durgadas ● *Expanded the kingdom to Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Telangana, and Karnataka.. ● *Raja Chhatrapati who brought world-class recognition to the coronation of the Hindu Empire.. ● *As long as Shivaji was alive, he did not let Aurangzeb set foot in Maharashtra and the southern region Valorous.. ● *Public administrator, self-respecting, historical scholar, mature statesman... ● *Protector of Dharma who brought back converted Nimbalkar and Netaji Phalkar.. ● *King of 36 villages in his childhood, head of 300 forts by 1674.. ● *Naval construction expert, patron of cavalry.. ● *A self-sacrificing rich man who was trained in the upbringing of his mother Jija Bai.. ● *Appointed the eight cabinet members and was prepared for war.. ● *Cow protector, founder of the Hindu kingdom... ● *Kshatriya clan descendant who was sworn in by the Kashi scholars as a Bhat.. ● *Hindus were not slaves. The one who made the best administrators known ● *He was Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.. The great Hindu empire in the south collapsed. When the fanatics were devouring the Indian Sanatana Dharma like a poisonous snake, Shivaji, the son of Jizya, stood up and stood firm, shedding the blood of his enemies and helping in the protection of Dharma. Hari Hara Bukka Raya was defeated by Vidyaranyu, Krishna Raya by Timmarusu, and Shivaji by Samartha Ramdas Karyonmukh, thus saving the glory of this country from being destroyed. After independence, some people did their best, but due to the lack of patriotism and respect for cultural heritage among some rulers, the glory of the country has become even dimmer. It is the responsibility of every Indian to maintain Sanatana Bharati from being attacked by enemies again and falling into the trap of corruption by foreign powers. The wind blowing here, the flowing water, and the visible hills are all symbols of Sanatan Dharma. Everyone should remember that you are the heir to millions of years of history, no matter how great your Dharma is, how rich your cultural heritage is. Morals to learn from the story: 1. Respect for women: Shivaji considered women as "mothers". We should also take it as our responsibility to respect and protect women. 2. Courage and intelligence: No matter how strong the enemies were, Shivaji defeated them with his skill and strategy. We, too, should find solutions to any problems we face with thought. 3. The meaning of life: Shivaji dedicated his life not only for the kingdom but also for Dharma and the welfare of the people. We, too, should live in a way that is beneficial to society, not for our own interests. 4. Invincible resolve for independence: Shivaji Maharaj risked his life to establish Swarajya at a young age. We, too, should take steps towards our goals and not give up no matter how many obstacles we face. Things to teach children through this story: 1. Courage: Courage is needed to do something that no one else can do. One should be fearless like Shivaji. 2. Justice: It is necessary to uphold good and confront evil. One should walk on the path of justice. 3. Patriotism: One should be ready to make any sacrifice for the country and for Dharma. 4. Truth and honesty: One should not lie under any circumstances. Shivaji, who valued honesty, should be taken as an example. 5. Public service: Even though he was a king, like Shivaji, who worked hard for the people, we should also help. How to discuss this story with children: 1. Do you think any of you need leaders? If so, what are the good things you do? 2. What would you do if someone was making a woman cry in front of you? 3. How do you deal with your fear? 4. What qualities are needed to be a good leader? 5. What is your favorite thing about Shivaji's life? Why did you like it? [GHHF] Why do we Ring Bells in Hindu Temples? What is the significance?

Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is committed to teaching about the significance of Hindu traditions and customs developed over millennia. It is believed that deities remain manifest in mandirs in which bells (ghanta) are rung. In Hindu mandirs, bells are usually hung in the area or porch preceding the inner sanctum. Devotees ring them as an invocation to the deity to listen to their prãrthnã and be blessed. The mind is filled with many things (memories, thoughts). The sages introduced the bell as a part of the puja system to leave all of them and concentrate the mind on God for a few moments. Upon hearing the sound of the bell, the mind, which is wandering in many things, unites in that sound and, just as the sound comes to a single level, the mind also comes to a single level. The sound of the bell takes us into a state of silence and redirects our mind towards the true essence of the soul, even for a moment. The bell indicates that we should go from noise to silence to emptiness. There is an art and science of making bells to produce the requisite sounds. There are bells specially made to produce the long strains of the sound OM. The handle of a ghanta signifies prãna – the vital force in the form of Hanumanji, Garud, Nandi or Chakra. During Garud sthãpanvidhi, the handle is offered pujan. A bell without a handle in one of these forms is forbidden in rituals since it may augur misfortune. The body of the bell is said to represent the divinity of time (Ãgama-Kosha 1992 VI:99).  Bells are signs of auspiciousness and aid in invoking the Lord. Usually, we find bells at the entrance of temples in the Gharbagriha and inside the temple premises. Many devotees have bells on their home altars as well. Ringing bells has many scientific and spiritual benefits. Bells, known as ghant or ghanti in Sanskrit, hold a deep and multifaceted significance in Hindu temples. Their importance goes beyond just a pleasant sound, encompassing spiritual, symbolic, and even scientific dimensions. Here’s a breakdown of their meaning: 1.      Calling the Divine 2.      Dispelling Negativity 3.      Focusing on the Mind 4.      Symbolic meaning 5.      Sound and Vibration 6.      Material Significance 7.      Purification of the Environment 8.      Enhancement of spiritual significance In general, bells are used to invoke the presence of the divine deity or deities worshipped in the temple. The ringing of bells marks the beginning of worship and serves as a call to the gods and goddesses to descend into the temple and bless the devotees.
