NOTE: As some of you are aware the Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is providing TWO weeks supply of dry food items to the Archakas for the last 6 weeks. We did not distribute in the Guntur area because our Pracharak tested positive and stayed in the hospital for about ten days. He has recovered fully and took enough rest to resume his duties. Hence there was a delay in distributing these items to Archakas. May God bless him with more energy and motivation to discharge his duties.

Global Hindu Heritage Foundation has distributed TWO weeks supply of Dry food items to Archakas in and around the Amaravati area – the capital of Andhra Pradesh.   Sri D Srinivas and three of his Associates coordinated the event by selecting the priests, who need these items. Instead of inviting all the Archakas to one location. We decided to arrange in four different locations around Guntur. About 40 (forty)  Archakas received the goods on two different days. Everybody is informed to follow the Covid guidelines.

As we mentioned earlier, many Archakas in VILLAGES are experiencing hardships and struggling to feed their families. GHHF is planning to distribute these items in Anantapur, Tirupati, Guntur, Vijayawada, Bhadrachalam, Hyderabad, West Godavari, and Visakhapatnam areas.

As we mentioned earlier that we wanted to distribute dry goods in these areas to about 600 Priests. Later the number increased to 750. Finally, GHHF  distributed these items to about 1000 by June 21st.

Each bag/kit will have the following items: Rice, Wheat flour, Cooking Oil, Urad Dal, Moong Dal, Brown Sugar, Tea Powder, Meal Packet, Chilli powder, Soaps, Tamarind, Turmeric, Sugar, Coconut oil, Upma Ravva, Mustard Seeds, and other items. It may vary depending on the requests of the priests in these cities.

Since the Lockdown due to the fear of spreading Coronavirus, all the Hindu Temples are closed. Now, many Pujaris / Hindu Temples priests are having a hard time meeting their basic needs. Many of them do not have any salaries either from the government or the private Temples. Most of them do not have enough savings to pay their rent and electricity. Furthermore, many private temples do not have enough income to pay their salaries. Consequently, many Pujaris do not have enough resources to meet their daily expenses to provide meals for their families. Recently, newspapers wrote about some priests begging on the streets as they could not provide meals for the family. That news pained so many people and some organizations are helping them financially. They are facing a grim and grave predicament.

It is time to help these Priests to meet their basic needs with our generous donation. It is time to acknowledge their invaluable service to Hindu Temples and Hindu Dharma. It is time to protect their dignity and self-respect.
