SLOKA TWO
Samudra Vasane Devi Stana Mandale

Meaning: Oh Mother Earth, The Devi Who is having Ocean as Her Garments and Mountains as Her Bosom, Who is the Consort of Sri Vishnu, I Bow to You; Please Forgive Us for Touching You with Our Feet.
The sloka signifies that the holy mother has mountains and forests as her body and on which the oceans work as the clothes. She is the wife of the almighty Lord Krishna (an incarnation of Lord Vishnu) and she should be bowed down upon. We stand on the Earth, which means our feet touch our Holy Mother, which is a sin, and we should ask for forgiveness for doing so.
As soon as one gets up from the bed, before our feet touch the ground we must ask forgiveness of the Bhoomidevi, who bear us all and support our living. This is the sloka taught to children

Bhoomi, Bhudevi, Bhumi-Devi or Padmavati is the Hindu avatar of goddess Prithvi representing Mother Earth. She is the consort of the Varaha avatar of Shri Vishnu. Bhumi is the daughter of Prajapati. She is known by various names such as Bhuma-Devi, Bhuvati, Bhuvaani, Bhuvaneshwari, Avni, Prithvi, Varahi, Dharti, Dhaatri, Dharani, Vasudha, Vasundhara, Vaishnavi, Kashyapi, Urvi, Ira, Mahi, Ela, Vasumati, Dhanshika, Hema, and Hiranmaya.
