Chamba, April 10. (PTI): A public trust to manage the Manimahesh shrines in Himachal Pradesh has been constituted, official sources said on Monday.

Governor V S Kokje has constituted a public trust through a notification exercising his power vested in sub-section (1) of article 29 of Himachal Pradesh Hindu Public Religious Institutions and Endowments act, 1984, Deputy Commissioner Pushpendra Rajput told PTI.

The official said that the State-level Manimahesh pilgrimage this year, which starts from September four on the eve of 'Janammashtmi', will be organised by the trust.

As per the provision of the act, the DC of Chamba will head the trust, Sub-divisional Officer (civil) Bharmour will be its member secretary and Tehsildar of Bharmour the temple officer, he said.

The shrine is about 216 km from Pathankot, the nearest railhead.
